You are responsible for complying with your carrier's terms of service and for any charges for data that you incur.

You can install either pdanet or easytether without using the developer's sdk.

  • Make sure you can connect to WiFi.
  • Put your phone in airplane mode
  • Turn on WiFi and connect to your WiFi network.
  • Go to the market and search for 'tether' or pdanet.
  • Install the app of your choice.

Alternate Method

  • Make sure you can connect to wifi.
  • Turn off your phone.
  • Remove your sim.
  • Turn on the phone and connect to your wifi network.
  • Go to the market and search for 'tether' or pdanet.
  • Install the app of your choice.

After your done installing, turn off your phone and put your sim back in.

I have installed and tested easytether this way and have it working with my laptop running WinXP Pro.

Both EasyTether and PdaNet have components that must be installed on your notebook or PC.

I have been informed that PdaNet's installer that runs from your PC will install the phone app.
