Holidays

You can easily add the holidays to your Google calendar.

• Visit your Google calendar with your web browser.
• click on Settings
• Click on the Calendars tab
• Click on Browse Interesting Calendars

You will be shown a list of calendars that you subscribe to. These include holiday calendars for many countries, sports calendars, and under the More heading things like phases of the moons.

Note: The sports calendars do not sync with your calendar on the phone. Apparently this is a licensing issue. See Add Sports Schedules for an alternative.

These calendars are view only, you can not alter them.

Contact Birthdays

In the more section you can subscribe to birthdays and events from your own contact list. Subscribing to this calendar will cause the birthdays of your gmail contacts to display in your calendar. This calendar will sync with changes you make to your gmail contacts birthdays and events entered in the web browser interface to Google calendar, not dates entered on your phone.
