The Problem

When viewing your contacts you can scroll by swiping (or select a view by tapping on it) to three views. The History view has been the subject of much discussion. The reason for this discussion was that it could not be deleted or cleared in a similar fashion to the call log history (Menu key->Clear list and then confirm).

The Solution

The first reference to how to accomplish deleting the history info in the Contacts was in this post by littlechelle in the Motorola Owner's Forum

While viewing the history for your contacts:

• Tap the name of the contact you want to delete the history for
• Tap Menu
• Tap Delete from History
• Confirm when ask

You can only delete history for one contact at a time.

Can't see contacts name in history

If you are trying to delete the history for a contact and can't see that contact's name in the history section tap the top of the screen (or the menu key) and select a group to display that you know the contact is in. When in doubt select the All contacts group.

Can't delete history following these steps

If yu have the same contact on multiple sources (Facebook, Twitter) and they are all linked some users report that you get an error when trying to delete history.
