This article suggests using calendars from MySportsCal.com. You can use any valid .ics calendar file from a source of your own choosing. Some teams may offer calendar files directly from their web sites.
The steps here to import an ics file for a sports team will work for any .ics file, not just sports schedules.
The sports calendars you can subscribe to on Google will not sync with your phone's calendar. Here is a work-around:
- Visit MySportsCal.com and download the schedule for team you want.
- Visit you Google calendar in your web browser.
- Click Create (under your list of calendars)
- Fill out the form to create the calendar and then click Create Calendar
- You are now back viewing your calendar
- Click Settings
- Click the Calendars tab
- Click Import
- Click Browse in the box that piops up and select the file you downloaded from MySportsCal
- Select the calendar you just created from the drop down list
- Click Import
- If things go right you'll see a message that tells you how many events were processed and how many were successfully imported
- Click Close
You are now back viewing your list of calendars, your calendar should now be shown in the list and the box under Show in list should be checked.
Click Back to calendar and the events you imported should be displayed in the calendar. They will now sync with your calendar on your phone. Syncing with your phone may take a few minutes.
