Overview

Menu->Settings->Wireless controls takes you to a page of settings for all things wireless. This includes WiFi, Bluetooth, mobile networks (roaming), and airplane mode.

WiFi On/Off - Connected Network

Setup and troubleshoot WiFi - Motorola

This area shows whether WiFi is on or off (green check mark means ON) and what, if any, network you are connected to.

Tap the select box to toggle WiFi.

Tapping this area of the page opens a sub-menu:


The top area duplicates the WiFi toggle setting of the main page.

Open Network Auto-Connect


This area allows you to toggle notifications if an open network is available.

AT&t WiFi Hotspots Auto-Connect


This area allows you to turn on auto connection to AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots.

Available WiFi Networks


This area shows the available networks, your connection status and whether they are secured or not. Tapping on a network name pops up a connection box. This box will show the type of security and prompt for the network password.

Bluetooth On/off


Tapping the check box toggles bluetooth on/off. Green check mark is ON.

Bluetooth Settings


Tapping this section of the page brings up the bluetooth settings sub-menu page.

The top section duplicates the bluetooth On/Off toggle from the main wireless settings page.

Bluetooth Device Name


This section displays the current device name for your phone. The default is MB300.

Tapping in this area brings up a window where you can change the bluetooth name for your phone.


You should change the name if you have more than one Backflip. This prevents confusion with devices you connect to.

Discoverable Mode

This area allows you to toggle discoverable mode. Discoverable mode your phone visible to other bluetooth devices. Turning on discoverable mode makes your phone visible for 120 seconds. The check box turns green and a timer counts down.

Scan for devices


Tapping this area of the page causes your phoen to actively scan for other bluetooth devices in range.

You will see a spinning circle next to the Bluetooth devices header on the page. Any devices found will be listed at the bottom of the page.

Paired Devices


Devices that your phone has been paired with are shown in a list at the bottom of the page.

Long tapping (tapping and holding) pops up a menu:

Long pressing a device that is paired will only bring up the sub-menu when bluetooth is ON.


From this menu you can unpair a device.

Tapping the device name will initiate pairing with the device.

Scanning for devices will remove any devices that are out of range and not paired that are in the list.
