Accessing the Menus
To access the menus on the Backflip you need to tap the menu key (circled in red in the image below)

This will bring up a sub-menu on the screen:

From here you can:
- Add an item to the Desktop
- Change the Wallpaper
- Search
- View Notifications
- Access the Settings sub-menu
While an application window is present on the screen tapping the menu key will bring up the application specific menu for most applications.
Terminology
- Menu key
- The area just below the screen that looks like four small squares. It is circled in red in the first image above. When on a home screen it opens a sub-menu. In many applications it opens an application specific menu.
- Home key
- The button that looks like a house. See first image.
- Back key
- Looks like a curved arrow, at right in first image above. Takes you back to the previous screen or menu.
- Swipe
- To rest your finger on the screen and slide it.
- Long tap
- To tap and hold. Similar to right-clicking a mouse on some computers, usually brings up a context menu.
- Tap
- A gentle tapping of a screen area, icon, or menu item.
- Home screen
- Any of the five screens you can view by swiping across the Backflip's screen.
- Main Home Screen
- The center of the five screens. The one that you are taken to if you tap the home key.
Notation
Notation for the steps to get to a sub-menu item looks like this:
Menu->Settings-Some other item->Another item if needed
Menu is always the menu key on the bottom left of the phone.

Each step will be worded exactly as you see it on the phone - barring typos and errors.
